BOUT THEATRE ARTS PROGRAM:
Black Girl Beauty School of Careers welcomes students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn, grow, beautify and help others. The Theatre Arts Business is a recession free industry that’s wide open, with unlimited opportunities!
In a Theatre Arts Program (whether titled generally or focused on actresses/actors), you’ll gain a comprehensive education in performance, production, and the theory behind theatrical art. Here’s a breakdown of what you typically learn:
Core Acting Skills
- Voice and Speech: Projection, diction, accents, breath control
- Movement and Physicality: Stage presence, body language, stage combat, dance
- Scene Study: Deep analysis of scenes from plays, films, or original scripts
- Improvisation: Thinking quickly and creatively in unscripted scenarios
- Character Development: Building believable, complex characters
Theoretical and Historical Knowledge
- Theatre History: Study of theatrical traditions, playwrights, and movements from ancient to modern times
- Script Analysis: Understanding themes, structure, and subtext in scripts
- Dramatic Literature: Reading and interpreting classic and contemporary plays
